A church where the people are so kind and helpful that people who don't know Jesus can't help but be glad that THE REFUGE is in the community.
A church where people go to their workplaces and stand out because of the way they live.
A church that gives people the hope that only Jesus can give.
A church where people lead in every part of life, bringing Jesus to our city and beyond.
A church that is a REFUGE and a safe place for all people.

Our Pastors Pastors

Pastors David & Jacqui Cameron planted Refuge Church on the southside of San Antonio in December 2017. David was born & raised in Peterhead, Scotland, where his grandfather & father were both pastors. Jacqui was born & raised in San Antonio, Texas, with a deep love for the people of the city. Together they have three boys, Jude, Jax & Newton.

What we Believe Believe

reaching all people

We believe in reaching all people with the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We are saved by grace, through faith in Jesus. Salvation is a free gift from God.

The Bible is God’s Word

We believe the Bible is God’s Word. It is accurate, authoritative and applicable to our everyday lives. God speaks to us through the Bible, and it gives us principles to guide every area of our lives.

one eternal God

We believe in one eternal God who is eternally existent and the creator of all things. He exists in three persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is totally loving and completely holy. We believe that sin has separated each of us from God and His purpose for us, but God has provided the ultimate remedy to the destruction sin makes in our lives. To receive this free gift, we must turn away from sin, believe in the Lord Jesus, and submit to His will and purpose.

the Lord Jesus Christ

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ came to earth as both fully God and fully man. Jesus is the only one who can reconcile us to God. He lived a sinless and exemplary life, died on the cross in our place, and rose again to prove His victory.

The Holy Spirit

We believe that to live the holy and fruitful lives God intends for us, we need to be baptized in water and be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit enables us to use spiritual gifts, including speaking in tongues, and empowers us to live out God’s purposes on the earth.

The CHurch

We believe in the power and significance of the church and the necessity of believers to meet regularly together for fellowship, prayer, and to receive communion (which represents the body and blood of Jesus).

Serve Our Community

We believe that God has individually equipped us so that we can fulfill our role in the church and serve the community in which we live. The Holy Spirit empowers us to preach the good news throughout the whole world.

Heaven & Hell

We believe that our eternal destination of either heaven or hell is determined by our response to the Lord Jesus Christ.

Christ's Return

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ is coming back again as He promised.

One aspect that has truly touched our hearts is the genuine care and support offered by the Refuge community. During every season of life, the members of Refuge Church stand united, ready to uplift and support one another. The various ministries and outreach programs at Refuge Church have allowed us to actively contribute to making a positive impact in the lives of others. Engaging in community service and participating in events aimed at spreading love and kindness have been deeply fulfilling experiences. From day one, Refuge has been life changing for us. The vision, the community, friendships and extended family that we’ve established is unlike anything we could have dreamed of. Refuge has been a place of growth for us as a family, and we cannot wait to continue to do life with the people that call the Refuge home!

Refuge has been a place to call home from the beginning. We have became instant family and my kids have found friends to call family. Life has its ups and downs( as we all know and have lived it), but having a place and family like the Refuge makes those downs so much easier to go through and the ups are celebrated so big. We are thankful we get to serve and pour out the same love and compassion that has been given to us.

Refuge church has been instrumental in my spiritual growth and community building. Refuge church has been a big support and shelter for us just when we needed it. We came to Refuge in one of our hardest times in our lives, but have been loved on so well by the whole team that made us realize Refuge Church is more than a church for us. Refuge Church is a home, a family, and a shelter in our hard times. We have grown as a family of 5 together under Refuge Church leadership, we have developed amazing friendships with those who have gone above and beyond for us at times , and have gained a whole support system. We aren’t meant to do life alone and that has been such a healing balm for us; since making Refuge our home church we have not been alone in our lives or circumstances once.
